Colt 45 is one of the most famous malt liquors in the United States. The kicking horse on the brand's logo is a reference to the beverage's extra kick: Colt 45 boasts 8% ABV. Contrary to what some believe, Colt 45 was not named after the revolver of the same name but NFL player Jerry Hill who was the running back #45 of the Baltimore Colts in 1963 - the year in which Colt 45 was introduced.
Since then, Colt 45 has become one of the most popular drinks in the United States and a pop culture staple. Rap star Afroman dedicated his hit single "Crazy Rap", also known as "Colt 45" to his favourite beverage. Later the rapper released an album entitled "A Colt 45 Christmas".
