Following Kabumm Vodka, Kabumm Gin is the second project of German rapper SIDO and Austrian spirits manufacturer Farthofer. The result of this cooperation is a gin that polarises and stands out. Like Kabumm Vodka, the gin also comes in a bottle that quickly reminds you of a grenade. But the content of the special bottle is not any less precious: besides standard botanicals, there are two ingredients that really catch your eye: elderflower blossom and Cornelian cherry. The decision to use those two special botanicals was SIDO’s, because he “likes freshness in a gin”.
According to the master distiller at Farthofer, Cornelian cherry and elderflower blossom are the only two ingredients that are freshly macerated. The other botanicals like juniper, orange and lemon zest as well as lavender are dried before their maceration. The base spirit is a 40% proof wheat distillate which is combined with the botanicals for maceration and then distilled a second time.
