RumChata is based on the Latin American drink horchata

We've got something new and very special for you - RumChata. This creamy, rich, delicious drink is a rum-based version of the traditional Latin American drink horchata. Made with real cream from Wisconsin, USA, and a secret mix of spices for exciting cinnamon and nutmeg flavours, RumChata is a delight to drink! RumChata has been a huge hit in the USA since it was launched a few years ago, but it hasn't been seen much in Europe yet. We're here to change that, as we're making RumChata available to purchase throughout Europe from our online shop.

RumChata is inspired by horchata, a traditional drink which is very popular in Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Horchata is made from rice milk, plus seeds like sesame or nuts like tigernuts or almonds. It is flavoured with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. It has become popular in the USA as well as in Latin America, and you can find it served in Mexican restaurants or in coffee shops as an alternative to frappes. You can find a different version of horchata in Spain too, where it is made from nuts rather than rice.

RumChata takes these flavours of horchata and mixes them with rum for a delicious new twist on a dairy cream drink. Using real cream and a blend of spice, plus rum from the Caribbean which is distilled five times, RumChata adds a touch of booze to this traditional drink. If you've never tried horchata, get some RumChata and experience the taste of Latin America!

RumChata makes great cocktails - mix RumChata with spirits and soft drinks

When you buy a bottle of RumChata, how should you drink it? Well there are loads of options! Of course you can drink RumChata neat or on the rocks for a simple, tasty tipple. Or use RumChata in shooters or shots by mixing it with vodka, coffee liqueur, or chocolate liqueur. You can also mix RumChata into long drinks by adding sodas like cola or root beer. But what out, don't add anything too acidic to your RumChata, or it will curdle! This is due to the real cream, which reacts badly to acidic fruit juices.

We also love to drink RumChata in hot drinks, like coffee or hot chocolate. A little shot of RumChata adds a spicy twist to keep you warm when it's dark and miserable outside.
