The rap superstar switched from Cristal to Armand de Brignac, the champagne with the famous "Ace of Spades" label. He first mentioned the brand on his single "Show Me What You Got": "H.O.V.A., gold bottles of that ace of spades." The accompanying video shows both champagne brands.

Jay-Z mentions the vodka brand in a number of songs. One example is „Get Your Mind Right Mami“: „Got cases of Belvedere, we gon’ play truth or dare.“

Due to differences of opinion with Louis Roederer's managing director, Jay-Z switched to a different champagne brand. But for a long time, Cristal was clearly his favorite drink. Evidenced by several song lyrics from his debut album "Reasonable Doubt":

"Maybe this Cristal's to change your life“ he prophesied on „Dead Presidents II“, while bragging about „champagne, Cristals by the bottle“ on his single „Can’t Knock The Hustle“. And together with the late rap star The Notorious B.I.G., he claimed he would be „sippin’ on Cristal forever“ („Brooklyn’s Finest“).

One of the two V.I.P. lounges at Jay-Z's 40/40 Club bears the name "Rémy Lounge". The rapper already expressed his love for Rémy Martin on his 1996 single "Can't Knock The Hustle": "My function is to make much and lay back munchin', sippin' Rémy on the rocks."
