Clase Azul Tequila is made using the highest quality ingredients
The first requirement for producing high-quality tequila is harvesting high-quality agave plants. Naturally, Clase Azul uses only organic Mexican blue weber agave, which is grown in the Jesus Maria region of Arandas, Jalisco. The agave plants are left to mature for seven to ten years before being harvested by skilled Jimadors, who strip away the leaves of the plant to leave just the heart, also known as the piña. The piñas are baked in stone ovens known as hornos for three days, to release their sweet juices which are the basis for tequila. Then a proprietary strain of yeast is used in Clase Azul's slow fermentation process.
Once the tequila has been double-distilled in small batches in a copper almebic still, for ultimate smoothness, it is paired with water which has been through a five-step refining process to remove all impurities. Once the water has been combined with the fermented agave juice, the resulting tequila is filtered three times to remove any remaining impurities and to bring the abv down to 40%.
Enjoy the beautiful, delicate taste of Clase Azul Tequila
The tequila which results from Clase Azul's careful distilling practises is truly something special. Whether you are tasting the blanco Clase Azul Plata or the Clase Azul Reposado tequila, the elegant, sweet flavours are sure to please. The Clase Azul Plata is crystal clear and has a full and oily body, with a soft aroma of agave and vanilla. The flavours are rich and sweet with notes of vanilla, pepper, and spice. It has a lingering, full finish and is smooth and sweet.
The Clase Azul Reposado is aged for eight months in oak casks which formerly held bourbon. It has a pale gold colour and a thick, smooth body. The oak aging brings out the notes of caramel and honey in the tequila, as well as woody notes from the barrel. Once again you'll detect flavours of vanilla, but with a slant towards honey, spice, and toffee. It has more smoky notes than the Plata, but they share a similar long and smooth finish.
