Belvedere Vodka, which is available to purchase in the online shop here at Urban Drinks, was inspired by the almost 500 year-long history of a unique Polish palace: the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw. Built in 1660 and later redeveloped in classical style, the palace is located in Lazienki Park on the edge of the capital. Stanislaw August Poniatowski bought the palace in 1767, a year before becoming the king of Poland. At the beginning of the 19th century, Belvedere Palace was the private haunt of the Russian grand duke, and brother of the Tsar, Konstantin Pawlowitsch Romanow. Remaining the property of the royal court until 1830, Belvedere was then stormed during the November Uprising. In the 20th century too Belvedere was the residence of diverse political figures, from the Marshall Jozef Pilsudski, to a number of post-war presidents.

Belvedere Vokda's recipe for worldwide success

Belvedere Vodka can since make a strong claim to have become more famous than the palace from which it takes its name. Produced from Dankowskie Rye, originating in the Polish region of Zyrardow, and crystal clear water from Belvedere's own artisan wells, the vodka is known for its extraordinary character. Quadruple distillation lends the finished vodka a famous softness and a subtle, clinging sweetness. Entirely free of any artificial additives, Belvedere Vodka encapsulates the perfect balance between character and purity. The vodka's production process is monitored strictly in order to ensure that extreme quality remains consistent. Not even the cork escapes the attention of the distillers. It is saturated in pure vodka prior to use in order to harmonise its profile with that of the spirit, thus avoiding any distasteful cork flavour. This precision on behalf of the producers of Belvedere Vodka has not only won the spirit a host of international awards, but made it one of the most popular vodkas worldwide.

Belvedere Vodka: a class of its own

Belvedere produces a wide range of premium vodkas, many wonderful examples of which are available to purchase in the online shop here at Urban Drinks. At 40% volume, the original Belvedere Vodka is characterised primarily by a light lemon note, rounded by a breath of vanilla and a mild creamy undercurrent. Finished by a cloud of pepper and spice, the vodka makes an accomplished impression on the palate and offers a remarkably lively base for cocktails with its subtle flavour nuances. The White Russian is a stone-cold classic.
