Ron Botran Solera 1893 18 YO is produced in the Industria Licorera Quezalteca distillery. The plant is situated in the mountains in the middle of Guatemala. Because of its soil conditions, the Central American country is ideal for the cultivation of sugar cane, hence for the making of rum.
The Solera rum is based on virgin cane honey which is a semi-fluid syrup made of sugar cane. After the distillation, the rum is filled into vintage American white oak barrels.
The master blender at Industria Licorera Quezalteca takes some rum out of each barrel to mix them together. Five to eighteen year-old rums are used in the blending of Ron Botran Solera 1893.
The elegant bottle underlines the premium quality of the mahogany coloured rum. When opening the bottle, the Solera 1893 presents notes of sweet berries and caramelized fruits which continue on the palate. Later those notes evolve into an aroma of citrus fruits and roasted cocoa beans.
Due to its mature character Ron Botran Solera 1893 is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
